I like to think that if I were a tree, I’d be a ponderosa pine. We’re both tall and skinny. Delicious smelling. Love to photosynthesize.

Ever since I was 11, when Bubba Albrecht took me on my first backpacking trip during my first summer in the West, ponderosas have been a symbol of prettier places for me; they’re not quite native to the Chicago suburbs where I grew up.

Now that I live in Colorado year-round, I can take full advantage of the beauty, serenity, and kick-assery afforded to us by the rivers, forests, mountains, and deserts that surround us.

I’m currently working towards an environmental science degree at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, taking every chance I have to do extracurricular “field work” hiking, skiing, flyfishing, and enjoying beautiful CO.

Give’r is all about attitude, and there’s no better way to have a good attitude than by going out and doing.
