Grab a tape measure (or a trusty piece of string and a ruler) and measure from the base of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger. That number’s your best guide for finding your size, simple as that.
Each hand’s a little different, so if you’re between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for all-day comfort in those deep winter conditions.
Step 2: Expect the Snug Start
Like a good saddle or a favorite pair of boots, these split mittens, and all Give'r gloves, are made to break in and get better with time. Your first few wears should feel snug but not tight, that’s the sweet spot. The leather and insulation will naturally form to your hands with use, resulting in a custom fit that is uniquely yours!

1. What is the best way to choose size if I am gifting these?
Ask them to measure their hand length, just as shown in the sizing chart, and your job is done!
2. If I can't find out their hand length measurement, what are alternative options for choosing sizes for someone else?
- Get the hand length measurement of someone who closely resembles your gift recipient. The best attributes to focus on are height, build / body type, and shoe size.
- Reference the Give'r Size Model Profiles (as shown in survey) to best match to your gift recipient. If you're on the fence between two sizes, we recommend sizing up.
3. Are the Expedition Split Mittens Unisex?
Yes, they are unisex sizing! The sizing chart was formed and affirmed with the help of over 200 male and female testers over the last 2 years. We have put a great deal of effort into this as, yes, we do give a fit!
