What could life have looked like had you followed your earliest childhood dreams? For Max Martin, he dreamed of snow. And skis. And Kicking Horse. His newest film Home Away From Home follows him from his hometown in Jackson, Wyoming to the powder-coated backcountry of Kicking Horse, British Columbia.

“This film is about friends, community, and skiing for the love of skiing. I’m thrilled on how this project has come along, and I’m so excited to share it with you all!”

Max has dedicated himself to the pursuit of being a professional skier. Growing up in Jackson, his parents worked at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and some of Max’s earliest memories were on the lift. At just six years old, he began racing in the Jackson Hole Ski Club and continued on in his career as a competitive ski racer.

“My favorite sport is skiing because you go fast. When I get older, I want to go to college in Canada and live in Kicking Horse.”

Max, like many of our early-aged selfs, wrote himself a note called My Life. In it, his 6th-grade-self writes “My favorite sport is skiing because you go fast. When I get older, I want to go to college in Canada and live in Kicking Horse.” Home Away From Home follows Max from Jackson to Golden, BC and Kicking Horse, where early morning radio stations curate their setlist to the snow report, as he shreds big lines, small lines, ice moguls, and everything in-between.
