Mittens for a Cause

In 1982 the Susan G. Komen Foundation was established to advocate for and support breast cancer patients with resources about the American medical system in addition to raising money to fund breast cancer cause and treatment research. As the most common cancer in women, breast cancer affects hundreds of thousands of people every year. The Foundation exists to support those patients and fund cancer research until there is a cure and focuses on supporting those with the fewest resources including people who are not insured or who are under-insured and low-income men and women unable to access care.

Thanks to growing awareness of the warning signs, more readily available resources, and advanced treatment success between 1989 and 2016 the mortality rate of breast cancer in the US decreased 40 percent, but breast cancer remains a commonly diagnosed and life-threatening disease to many. By the end of 2021 there will be approximately 281,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer diagnosed in women and 2,650 cases diagnosed in men in the United States.

To support the work of Komen and to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our team is excited to launch our very first, limited-edition, pink colorway of our Frontier Mittens. Twenty dollars of every pair of mittens sold will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support their educational and research funding efforts. We’re so grateful to have the opportunity to donate to this cause and will continue keeping those affected by breast cancer in our hearts and minds.
