Head to the Gros Ventre Mountains

The Tetons steal all the fame and glory, while the mountain range on the opposite side of the valley – the Gros Ventres – tend to earn little more than a footnote in most guide books. Other’s loss is your gain. There are some truly amazing day hikes and camping spots in this range. Dispersed camping on Shadow Mountain, for example, is an experience you definitely won’t regret.
