1. What is a Give'r presale & when do my gloves ship?
Give'r custom gloves are custom branded by hand one pair at a time by our HQ Crew in Jackson. Due to the extra care and attention that these limited edition custom mittens require, the Live Wild, Live Well mittens are available by presale only. Presale ends February 4. Order fulfillment will begin February 7 with all presale orders being shipped no later than February 15, 2024.
2. If I order presale and non-presale items in the same order, when will my order ship?
Orders that contain both presale and non-presale items will ship together in one shipment once presale fulfillment begins. If you would like your non-presale items to ship within our normal fulfillment and shipping window, please place a separate order or email us at sales@give-r.com for assistance.
3. If in between sizes, what should I do?
Finding the right size cold-season glove can be tricky. You should always start by making use of our sizing chart, measuring your hand, and checking the recommended size based on your measurements. However, some people may find their measurements don't line up perfectly with the chart. If you're in between sizes, we recommend sizing up! A larger size will give you a little more room to work with, and will help ensure a comfortable fit for your Frontier Mittens.
4. On first wear, my mittens are snug - is this normal?
Leather mittens, specifically those with insulation, take a little getting used to. Yes, these mitts are designed to be snug at first, as they will begin breaking in on first use. The insulation will pack out and begin to fully fill the leather outer shell. The leather itself will begin to break in and form to your individual hands. The more they're used, the better they'll fit as they become an extension of your hand and fingers. This means that your hands will stay warmer, for longer, in cold weather conditions. So, don’t be afraid to break these burly mittens in – the more you use them, the better they'll work for you.
5. How often should I re-wax my Frontier Mittens?
Re-waxing needs vary greatly from person to person. Some people never re-wax their Give'r mitts at all and are completely fine, while others re-wax every season to add extra weatherproofing before being outside a lot. The more you use 'em, the more you should re-wax - especially if doing abrasive tasks like handling barbed wire. Doing it yourself? Any all-natural beeswax (SnoSeal works great) will do just fine!
6. How do I re-wax my Frontier Mitts?
The process of re-waxing your Give'r Frontier Mittens is quite simple. Start by ensuring the leather mitts are clean and free from any dirt or debris. Next, heat up some natural beeswax - this can be done by microwaving it for a few seconds or melting it over a stovetop. Be careful not to overheat the wax as this could damage the mitten leather.
Once melted, apply the beeswax liberally to the surface of the mittens using a brush (if desired) to help distribute it evenly. Allow the wax to soak in for several minutes before buffing with a cloth to remove any excess beeswax. That's all there is to it! Your newly waxed mitts should now appear shiny and will be better protected against harsh elements going forward.
7. What's the purpose of a wax coating on leather?
The wax coating on our leather mittens is not the waterproofing element, but it does provide additional leather protection. Leather will show water absorption, and the waterproof membrane in our mittens’ construction protects them from external moisture. Instead, the wax coating protects the leather from becoming brittle in winter weather, which can lead to cracking and other damage. So, while the wax coating itself may not make the mitts waterproof, it does help to protect them from other elements that could cause damage and make them less effective.
8. Can I expedite the break-in process?
When it comes to all leather mittens, having the perfect fit is key to both performance and overall comfort as the wearer. For the best possible fit and performance from your Give'r Frontier Mittens, we recommend that you break them in before using them in cold weather. This time and care will give you a final result you'll be stoked about.

9. How are Give'r mittens insulated?
Our Frontier Mittens feature a soft Thinsulate insulation system, which is made up of tiny microfibers that trap warmth effectively. Furthermore, because Thinsulate is synthetic and doesn't absorb water, it's an ideal choice for winter gear like these mitten-style gloves.
